( video ) America: Greet the new arrival to the embassy

[ America pops up, all smiles as usual. The camera shakes a bit as he moves up the stairs to his apartment. ]

Yeesh, usually I check in more than this, but you know how it goes: busy taking down vicious beasts, throwing birthday parties, saving the city, the usual! Ah, hold on...

[ He fumbles in his pocket for a key, opening his door... ]

So earlier I had this really good idea for-!

[ This is promptly cut off by a scream. It is the scream of someone who is now witnessing their precious pet dog(dragonwolfmonsterhellbeast) being eviscerated and eaten. Actually, here, have a quick view of the scene while America presses himself against the wall: ...why, it's only Nepeta enjoying a meal consisting of monster meat! What's so terrible about that?

Fucking everything, damn it. That blood splatter on the floor was his pet. How would you feel if someone ate your dog? Not too hot. Even if the creature eating your pet happens to be a cute little troll girl who, at the moment, looks a bit like a pet who just got caught doing something they shouldn't. The irony of this situation continues to mount. ]

PUPPY, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! OHMYGOD IT'S EATING MY DOG!

[ Cue more incoherent screaming as he grapples for his shotgun. Amidst his struggling, the communicator switches off.

If you are in Marshall, you can probably hear his screaming. ]

[Tatsumi raises a hand to greet the country. Closing the space between them he scoops America up into a hug, knowing he probably needs one right now. Losing pets sucks, even if it was pretty amusing... to Tatsumi.]

Lets go inside. It's real warm in there. We can just chill. I got some snacks and stuff!

[ Hugging right back in the bestest best hug he can manage. This time his smile is a little brighter. ]

Sounds good to me! Hey, I actually haven't been in Latimir in a while. This'll be cool.

[He heads inside, holding the door open and then leading America over to room 108]

I've only been to the one other place, some kid needed help carrying books to the high school.

[The room isn't big, just an efficiency. He shares it with Toku, who's hamsters are across the room.]

What you feel like? I got some pretzels!

You're new, ya haven't been around for one of my big Marshall lobby parties! ...Actually I only had that Wild West one and that's kinda a long story. Anyway.

[ America looks pleased anyway. Let's face it, the dude spends half his time in the back of a VW van back home. Tatsumi's apartment may not have shag carpeting but at least it has a toilet and doesn't reek.

He'll just make himself right at home and sit on the first piece of furniture he finds. ]

I'm good for anything! Pretzels are awesome!

[ He will eat nearly anything. ]

[The Werepire brings over the bag of pretzels he found earlier and a OMFG is that rootbeer?! Holy hell, yes it is. He sets it next to America and winks]

[Just as he thought. America's reaction makes Tatsumi smile more before pulling a chair over to sit closer]

Ya! I was gonna save it for maybe another date or something but you seem like ya need it now.

[He wraps his hand around the top of his own root beer bottle, popping the metal cap off with his bare hands. It stung a little but nothing worth thinking about. After all, this is a guy who'll end up getting shot 100 times, run over, smash through a wind shield, and then pushed off a cliff and still get up and keep moving. Pain Tolerance = out of this world]

[ America does the same in kind. ...He's just super strong okay. I don't know much about America's pain tolerance but I sometimes wonder how he's affected by all the atom bombs on the Nevada Test site. I bet he watches with popcorn and goes "AHAHAHA I AM THE HEGEMON." ]

I also have some of that nasty alcohol stuff Shinjiro has. He gave me some as payment. It's not worth the trouble to drink that stuff alone.

[He gets up but doesn't go far, since the kitchen is right behind them. he pulls out a bottle or two from the freezer... which is really just full of snow to keep things cold. Tatsumi sets about five screw-top bottles down on the table.]

Takes the chill off too! I don't get as drunk as I used to, though... but who knows with this place, ya?

[After all, he did get a little buzzed for the new year. Normally, he could drink and drink and feel nothing. It was all the chip's doing but in this case, he was rather happy he was chipped. Now, if only it made the alcohol taste better.]

[ New Years with America at Discedo is notorious for events that lead to some reenacting of The Hangover. OH IF ONLY HE'D KNOWN TATSUMI THEN. ]

Hah! Kinda the opposite for me. I usually only drink a lot on New Years, but now Denmark invites me to do drinking games and man, you just can't out-drink a viking. It's basically impossible.

[ He chuckles. ]

Plus back home I've got wayyyy better stuff than even good alcohol.

Yup! I had some morphine a while back and some mystery pill on New Years! But good stuff is hard to come by. Nothing natural, that's for sure, and no acid, no amphetamines, no nitrous, no Ketamine, nothing, then half the pills I do find are in some other language I don't know and the last thing I need is to end up swallowing, like, estrogen or something. The search continues.

[ He seriously needs an intervention. ]

[Well, that's convenient for Tatsumi. He doesn't have to explain the REAL reason why. he drops the topic and listens to America go on about drugs. ]

Used to call it Coffin Varnish and Tarantula Juice and the like. Homemade whiskey I used to drink in the Wild West, if ya could call it whiskey. It was more like raw alcohol, burnt sugar, and tobacco all mixed together. It literally tastes like hellfire.

[ Drink and chase. It gets easier the more he drinks. And believe me, he's taking big gulps. THE SOONER HE'S DRUNK THE SOONER HE DOESN'T CARE IT TASTES AWFUL. ]
