I can not be certain but if he is attacking people and sucking their blood in such a fierce state then it can certainly be linked to his vampirism. His chip removal could have triggered something... are you sure there was nothing else... no other abilities he could have unlocked?

I'm a country. Not only that, the best country. The rabies is probably like "no way, man. Don't even stand a chance." So it has to hide in my body and wait for me to accidentally infect other people!
