[ Here is America. He is extremely dirty, tired-looking, and, given the red chapped face and dark tint to his nose and cheeks, slightly frostbitten. Nothing new. If you have been here since his arrival, you probably know what happened while I was on hiatus. ]

Maybe, but the Professor says that you can't change what happened in the past, and you weren't here, so what you could have done isn't important. I suppose it's mostly just important that you would have helped if you'd been here!

[He smiles slightly at the screen, though he looks a bit perplexed.] Well..I'm glad you found your way back! Maybe you shouldn't go places alone if you don't know where you are headed?

Where's the fun in that? If I don't know where I'm headed, I'll probably find something new and exciting! How do you think I expanded the frontier? [ also failing to mention he was a tad whacked out on something or another when he decided to head out on his journey. ]

[Get ready for some rationalization!] It might not be as fun but you won't get lost or sick or hurt and people won't worry about you getting lost or sick or hurt! Or at least if you do have to go take somebody with you!
[He frowns just slightly, it might almost be a pout but on that tiny little screen it's hard to tell. ]It's not nice to make all your friends worry about you.

But if I took someone with me, they could've wound up in the same predicament I did! And I wasn't exactly thinking of "let's get some company up in here" because I was already pretty bummed that a pal of mine went home except at that point I'd already f-- wound up in unfortunate circumstances so it was really just a chain reaction of awful events!

An American guy named Miles Edgeworth. Lawyer, all ruffly, kinda a jerk, but we were pals! It sucks that I don't get to talk to him anymore, but hey, he's back in Cali, so I can't really complain!

Oh--Mr. Edgeworth? You knew him too? He was very nice to me when I met him!

Yeah, we were friends! He was always all prickly and stuff to me, but he always pulled through, and that's what counts. Plus he made me food.

Mr. Edgeworth cooked? I didn't know that. I'm sad he had to go home...he was very nice. But I guess going home is good, so even though it's sad for us, we should be happy for him because he got to leave..

Maybe not a lot, but I'd show up in his kitchen and he'd get this frown on his face like "what are you doing here" and I'd be like "hi Miles!" and he's pout and make me food, so it all worked out. Gonna miss the guy, but I'm happy for him though! Even if I'm not there with a body, he'll still have me as a country, so that's something! And if he goes back to Germany, well, Germany's house is still better than Discedo. Even if it kinda smells like wursts over there.

I know what ya mean. Well, not really, since my [ raising hands to use finger quotations ] "parents" are huge jerks, and they're not even really my parents anyway and the humans who took care of me when I was young are all dead, so. ...But yeah anyway, the way I've seen it people usually don't even last a year here, so you've got a pretty good chance of being home by next Christmas!

People don't usually stay a whole year? That's sort of sad, that you'd get to make friends but then have to leave and not see them again..

Yeah, sorta. I know there's at least a couple 'round here who do inter-world traveling, so they'll probably run around visiting people once they're back home! As for me, I'm just happy to meet my citizens and stuff, even if they're not from the same Earth as me!
