[audio] yes. we quoted it. and I can't do srs. judge me (silently).

[ Clicking on in what appears to be the middle of a conversation. One voice is, obviously, America's. The other is childish with a distinct Russian accent. You can only guess who that is. ]

--n't as clever as you think. I found the seal bug. If you admit it now, I won't tell the United Nations of your spying attempts. Yet.

[ There's a pause, a soft nngh noise, before he chuckles. Hesitantly, but still. ] K certu. [ The childish voice says brightly, as if telling America to go to hell is the same as pointing out how sunny it is outside.

America just chuckles in response.
]

Suit yourself. I've got some more pressing matters on my mind. Namely, those people you set up for espionage to divulge my atomic bomb secrets. I've found them too.

[ He sounds so smug. ]

Perhaps, if Amerika's government was not so... flawed, or corrupt in first place, it would have turned out differently, da?

[ Russia intentionally avoids talking about the 'spies'. The event is fresh in his mind, being as it's only a few years ago, though he's already accepted it. Call it a mistake on his part.

BITCH I WILL SHOW OFF THIS THING TO THE UN. ...In 1960 after having my spy plane shot down oops. Anyway. Good ol' America's voice comes out as absolutely whiny.
]

You're just copying me! Except you're way lamer about it! You can't even come up with your own bomb ideas.

Nyet, don't flatter yourself. Wouldn't waste time copying you.

Liar. Liar.

[ There's a bitter emphasis on the second word. A small clatter of furniture- America's sitting on the end of a table (not that you can see it). ]

You lie about everything. Your ideals, your glory, the fact that you even care about people. You don't, do you? You could kill any of them without remorse, even yours.

[ Russia chuckles; it starts with the clatter and erupts into a full blown, strained fit of giggles. ] You speak as if you know me, Amerika. You do not, you just... fear who I am, and what I can do. If you did, then you would know that Russia doesn't lie, da?

[ Now it's Russia's voice which sounds smug.

And really, that's not far from the truth. America is scared shitless of you. He simply channels that fear into productive, healthy hobbies, like feverishly testing bombs and plotting to nuke the moon. America sounds almost pitying.
]

You're really too messed up to even realize how wrong you are, aren't you? Well, Russia, I've got news for you: a hero always perseveres against evil, regardless of how he feels. He keeps truckin' on, even though the villains support a futile war against capitalism. One that they're losing, I might add.

[ Russia laughs again, and spits out something in Russian through his teeth. There's a scraping noise, something akin to the sound a chair against a floor would make. ]

Capitalism? You dare think I am at war with you over your petty beliefs, ones that have blinded you for so long and yet you continue to cling to desperately like a child with a blanket? That would mean we are equals, da? Amerika, threat to Soviet Union? Nyet, is not war! Is pest control!

And yet- [ scrape scrape clang furniture is scooted back as America gets up ] -you plant bugs to hear what I'm saying, send in people linked to the KGB to give you my weapon plans, you and China are so threatened by me that you support a country who invaded a republic I support; and you have the gall to think you're superior?

[ Behold, bullshit view of the Korean War. His voice is much lower, quieter. ] Are you afraid of me Russia?

[ There's a pause, and a creaking noise; Russia might be trying to lean back or something. He doesn't, however, break eye contact, though even though it can't be seen, his smile and voice becomes a bit more strained. ]

Not afraid of capitalist. Just choosing to watch you! You are always eager to show off, da? It is only matter of time before that eagerness destroys you!

Ahhh, not as fast as you're destroying yourself.

[ Another laugh, and more Russian. He's either mocking America's words, or summoning demons from the depths of the underworld. Fact: it's both. For the first time in the conversation, America actually sounds irritated. ]

What's so funny?!

Amerika thinks he is hero, overlooking everything and focusing on what he wants to. Is laughable, really, how foolish he is, da? My people, my beliefs, will always persevere and you cannot stand it. The bricks are old and faulty but in their place, and immoveable! You cannot stand how superior Russia's house is to yours!

[ America is silent for a moment before speaking, voice strained. ]

You're partly right. I can't stand it. I can't stand what you're doing to me, I can't stand communism, and I can't stand you. Most of all, I can't stand what you stand for! What you claim to stand for and don't. Maybe I am upset about that. [ America snorts, which escalates in a short fit of that creepy laughter you hear at the end of his MKC. ] Though, really. Superior? You're superior in only one respect!

[ Russia doesn't grasp 'fear' like normal nations does; though America's words and tone make him tense. It triggers the paranoia his people feel, and even though he hasn't fully felt it since he left home, it still makes his skin crawl. His answer comes through his teeth.] And.. what is that?

[ It's not loud. A quick cracking noise. It could just as easily be mistaken for a slap within the confines of the coat. Except America decides to finish his statement. ]

You're better at dying.

[ It's not quite over. America pauses; his breath is shaky, and if you could see him now, he's shaking violently. It's pretty obvious from the breathing though that he's pretty shaken up. ]

Well, crap, that didn't go quite as planned. Boy is he gonna be steamed. Darn it, someone else lives here too, this is gonna be a tricky one to explain. At least I have time to prepare. Ah! Heck! I'm not a bad guy. I'm the hero!

[ Poor bastard sounds desperate, practically pleading as he pulls out his communicator. ]

I'm a hero, I-I promise! I'm here to help! He's the bad guy, not me! You've seen what he does. I'm only making everything okay for everyone...

[ end. Notifs are failing me but I'll catch up on new/old/all tags as best I can! ]
